Modern eye examination in Zurich

Early detection · Diagnostics · Vision consultation

Regular eye exams protect your vision – often even before you notice anything wrong. In my practice in Zurich, I examine your eyes using modern imaging technology and over 35 years of experience in optometry. My work rests on three pillars: early detection, diagnostics, and vision consultation.

Early detection & prevention

Many eye diseases develop gradually and without symptoms. Glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy often go unnoticed in their early stages. Regular eye exams are essential for maintaining your vision: This allows changes to be detected early and treated promptly.

Diagnostics & Modern Imaging

Using state-of-the-art technology, I examine your eyes and check for any abnormalities. If any issues are found, I will refer you promptly and directly to your ophthalmologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Vision consultation

Good vision is more than just sharp sight. I take the time to understand your individual visual needs – whether at a screen, while reading, driving, or in everyday life. Based on this understanding, I will provide you with personalized advice on your eyesight, more stable perception, and improved visual quality of life.

Frequently asked questions about eye examinations

  • How often should I have my eyes examined? For most adults, a check-up every one to two years is recommended – more frequently from age 40 or in case of a predisposition.

  • How long does an eye exam take? Allow approximately 45 to 60 minutes for a comprehensive examination including imaging.

  • What is the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? As an optometrist, I perform early detection, diagnostics, and vision consultations. If I find anything unusual, I will refer you to an ophthalmologist.

  • How much does the examination cost? The examination is a private preventative care service; the costs are borne by you as the patient. I would be happy to inform you about the procedure beforehand.
